Lot on Silver Spring Avenue to Become Public Parking Space Next Month
A space adjoining the Fenton Street garage and fronting on Silver Spring Avenue will become a public parking lot operated by the county on or about March 1, according to Department of Transportation officials.

DOT to Reinstate Suspended Parking Enforcement Program
The county’s Division of Parking Management, part of the Department of Transportation, will once again institute enforcement measures against those who ignore parking tickets. MCDOT will begin towing and booting cars on Monday, Nov. 1.

Takoma Park Parking Permits Renewals Due Now
Renewals for renewed parking permits in Takoma Park began June 1, according to a reminder community advisory from the city’s police department. Any vehicle’s windshield sticker with an expiration date of June 2021 or older must apply for renewal.

Silver Spring Parking Rates to Increase Beginning Next Week
Parking rates in downtown Silver Spring and the rest of the Silver Spring Parking Lot District will increase beginning Monday, Nov. 2, the county’s Department of Transportation has announced. The rates will change at the county-operated garages, surface lots and street parking meters, including the Montgomery Hills area, part of the PLD.

DOT Creates No Parking Zones to Facilitate Takeout Pick Ups
The county’s Department of Transportation has designated six temporary “No Parking” zones in downtown Silver Spring to make curbside pickup of takeout orders easier for local residents. In addition, the county has temporarily established free parking for residents in the Bonifant/Dixon garage at 1101 Bonifant St.
