Governor Announces COVID Relief Funding for Entertainment Venues
Gov. Larry Hogan (R) announced $30 million in COVID-19 relief funding awarded to more than 90 music and entertainment venues around the state, including four in downtown Silver Spring. “These awards will save hundreds of jobs and help many of Maryland’s entertainment venues sustain their operations until they can safely and fully reopen,” the governor said.

Fans Now Able to Attend Outdoor Performances with Restrictions
Fans of outdoor entertainment now will be able to attend performances under certain guidelines released yesterday by the county. Audiences will be limited to 50 attendees, who must buy tickets in advance and will have to maintain social distancing (at least six feet) from those who are not part of the same household.

County Venues Now Permitted to Offer Live Performances
County venues including indoor and outdoor restaurants are now permitted to include live performances, with restrictions, County Executive Marc Elrich announced on Friday. Sligo Golf, Pit BBQ Reopen; Live Music Will Return
The Sligo Creek Golf Course and a renovated Sligo Pit BBQ have reopened for the season and live music will return this year, according to team leader Laura Russell. The Friday night free concerts will kick off June 5 with The Loose Ends and a special appearance by County Executive Marc Elrich.
