Holiday shoppers and gift givers now can buy the Shop Takoma e-Gift Card for use at area businesses, according to an announcement from Main Street Takoma. The county has announced its schedule of closings for the Thanksgiving Day holiday Nov. 26. All county offices, libraries and the Alcohol Beverage Services retail stores will be closed, as will all recreation programs and facilities.

The county’s Commission on Veterans Affairs is looking for tributes to veterans to add to its virtual “Tribute to Montgomery County Veterans,” officials announced. The program is open to any county residents who have served in the military, whether in wartime or peacetime.

County Releases Schedules for Presidents Day Holiday
The county has released the schedule of closings for the Presidents Day holiday on Monday, Feb. 17. All county and state offices, as well as county libraries, will be closed. Recreation centers, senior centers and the Recreation Department’s administrative offices will be closed, while aquatics facilities and programs will be open.
