County Police, Communities to Hold National Night Out
National Night Out, an annual community-building campaign designed to promote partnerships between police departments and local neighborhoods, will be held tomorrow, Aug. 6, around the country. The county’s police department will be participating in various community events.

Council Names Verma to Planning Board in Historic Appointment
The Council Council today unanimously named Partap Verma to the Montgomery County Planning Board, an historic appointment as the first Asian Indian and openly gay member. The council also selected Casey Anderson to serve a second term as chairman of the board.
