Fans Now Able to Attend Outdoor Performances with Restrictions
Fans of outdoor entertainment now will be able to attend performances under certain guidelines released yesterday by the county. Audiences will be limited to 50 attendees, who must buy tickets in advance and will have to maintain social distancing (at least six feet) from those who are not part of the same household.

Sections of Sligo Creek Parkway to be Closed Friday for Repairs
Montgomery Parks will close two sections of Sligo Creek Parkway tomorrow, Sept. 18 to vehicles, bicyclists and pedestrians from 8 a.m.–2 p.m. The sections are: Parkway from Colesville Road to Wayne Avenue, and Parkway from Kennebec Avenue to Maple Avenues.

Council Approves Youth Sports Funding, Introduces Bill to Change Business Fees
The County Council yesterday approved more than $1 million in two special appropriations to support area youth sports. In addition, two council members introduced a bill to lower annual license fees for county retailers and restaurant operators.

Ulta Beauty to Open September 29 at New Downtown Silver Spring Location
Ulta Beauty is set to open Tuesday, September 29 at its new location at 8510 Fenton Street, according to signage posted in windows at the new storefront. The space was previously home to City Sports and more recently, Arts on the Block.
