Mystery markings some have likened to sidewalk graffiti along Fenton Street are a part of the Pepco project to replace the 69kV underground lines between the Takoma and Sligo substations. The paint is water-soluble and will be removed when no longer needed.

Denizens to Celebrate Anniversary with New Orleans Theme Party

Southbound Lane of Colesville Road to Close for Purple Line Work
The right-hand lane of southbound Colesville Road will be closed between Second Avenue and East-West Highway beginning in mid-July for construction. Other work planned in July will affect Wayne Avenue, Bonifant Street, and Springvale Road as well.

Permitting Services Issues “Do Not Occupy” Order on Bonifant Market
The Department of Permitting Services issued a “Do Not Occupy” order at Merkato Market, which effectively shut down the business at 955 Bonifant St. The business was operating without proper permits and had been the subject of several complaints this year.
