County Adoption Center Waiving Fees to Adopt Cats, Kittens During July
The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center is waiving adoption fees for cats and kittens this month in Operation: Feline Freedom. “MCASAC will be launching the event with more than 50 cats and kittens available for adoption. New animals are made available every day,” according to the announcement.

Parks Suspends Alcohol in Parks Pilot Program Effective Today
Montgomery Parks has suspended the park pilot program allowing alcohol consumption without a permit in 13 county parks, effective today (July 1), officials announced. Montgomery Parks is marking National Selfie Day today by announcing that staff has placed new selfie stands in 13 different parks around the county. The stands are wooden and include ledges at two different heights where park visitors can place their phones for individual or group shots.
