Demolition Begins on Former Park and Planning Headquarters Site
Demolition has begun on the site of the former headquarters of the county’s Park and Planning departments at 8787 Georgia Ave. in preparation for a new development project. The county chose partners Bozzuto and StonebridgeCarras in 2013 for a two-part redevelopment effort that included this site.

Work Begins on Ellsworth Drive Large-Scale Mural
Work has begun on a 350-foot-long large-scale street mural on the pedestrian-only portion of Ellsworth Drive in the Downtown Silver Spring development. Chalk Riot, a Washington-based public arts production company that specializes in pavement art and interactive murals, some using augmented reality, is creating the work.

Applications Now Accepted for Third Round of Restaurant Relief Grants
The Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation is now accepting applications from county restaurants for a third round of grants to help those businesses survive the pandemic. The County Council has authorized another $3.8 million appropriation from the state to MCEDC.
